This Cookie Policy explains how Jobiko (the “Service”), operated by Groupe Omnua inc. (“we”, “us”, or “our”), a corporation (société par actions) constituted under the Quebec Business Corporations Act (RLRQ, c. S-31.1), uses cookies and similar browser storage on our website and web application: which ones, why, how long they last, and how you can control them.
Read it together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.
1. What cookies are #
Cookies are small files a website places in your browser so it can recognize you on your next request: keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and operate securely. Browsers also offer local storage, which works the same way for our purposes. In this policy, “cookies” means both.
We group them into four categories:
- Essential. Required for the Service to work and to keep your account secure. They cannot be turned off in our banner.
- Preferences. Remember choices such as your language or theme, so the next visit opens the way you left it.
- Attribution. Set only when you arrive through a link carrying campaign or promo-code parameters.
- Analytics. Help us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. Optional, and set only with your consent.
We do not use advertising or marketing cookies.
2. The cookies we use #
The same answer to our cookie banner applies on the website (jobiko.org) and in the web application (app.jobiko.org): you are asked once.

Changing your language does not change your cookie choices. Your language and theme values are used for nothing else, and clearing your browser storage resets them to the defaults.
3. Why we use them #
- To keep you signed in and secure. The session cookie is sent only over encrypted connections and cannot be read by scripts on the page.
- To remember your preferences. Your language and theme are stored so you do not have to set them on every visit.
- To honour your choices. The consent record lets us remember whether you accepted or declined optional cookies.
- To apply promo codes. The attribution value carries a promo code from the link you followed to checkout.
- To improve the Service, with your consent. Analytics shows us which features work and where people get stuck.
4. No advertising trackers #
We do not place advertising or marketing cookies, we do not embed ad networks or cross-site tracking pixels, and we do not sell information collected through cookies. Jobiko is a paid product, not an advertising-funded one.
We do use a small number of service providers to run the Service reliably: product analytics (with your consent), error monitoring and our payment provider (Section 5). None of them is an advertising network, and none is used to follow you across other websites.
5. Analytics and error monitoring #
Product analytics, only with your consent. On jobiko.org and app.jobiko.org we use a product analytics service (usage statistics, heatmaps and masked session replays) only if you choose Accept in our cookie banner. Until then nothing is loaded: no analytics cookie, no analytics request. With your consent we record the pages you view, how far you scroll, your clicks (which element was clicked, never its text) and, on some visits, heatmaps and session replays. Replays and heatmaps are masked before anything leaves your browser: all page text and everything you type is hidden, so they show layout and movement only, and in the app the most sensitive sections, such as your profile details, are excluded altogether. They run only on our production sites, not in test versions. Session replays are kept for 30 days, then deleted. Once you sign in, analytics events are linked to your internal Jobiko user id (never your name, email address or profile), and our servers record a few product events (for example, that a document was tailored or a subscription started) under the same id, only while your answer is Accept. Analytics is not used for advertising and the information is not sold. If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signal, we treat it as a decline. You can withdraw consent at any time (Section 6): analytics stops at once, the analytics identifier is removed from your browser and your account is unlinked.
Error monitoring. Our error-monitoring service does not set cookies. Each time the app loads, the app sends it an anonymous session signal (that a session started, and whether it ended in a crash); for a sample of about one page load in five it also sends performance timings; and when something breaks, it sends a technical report: the error, the type of browser and device, and the page where it happened. We configure these reports to leave out personal information, and we treat anything that slips through as personal information under our Privacy Policy. It is not an advertising network.
Payment pages. When you start a checkout or manage a subscription, our payment provider (the merchant of record) shows its own payment page and may set its own cookies to process the payment securely and prevent fraud. Its cookie policy applies on that page.
Address suggestions (Google Maps). The address field in your profile offers suggestions from Google Maps. Google’s service is loaded only when that field is on screen, never on other pages, and Google’s own terms apply to it.
Browser extension. The Jobiko extension stores its settings and your session in the browser’s extension storage, not in cookies on the sites you visit. It does not place cookies on employer or job-board websites.
6. How to manage or refuse cookies #
In our banner. The first time you visit jobiko.org or open the Jobiko app, you can accept or decline optional analytics. Your answer applies to both, is stored so we do not ask again, and you can change it at any time, as easily as you gave it:
- On jobiko.org: select Cookie preferences at the bottom of any page.
- In the app, signed out: select Cookie preferences at the bottom of the sign-in or sign-up page.
- In the app, signed in: open Settings → Account & billing → Cookie preferences and choose Change.
The banner opens again so you can choose. If you decline, optional analytics stops immediately. You can also clear your browser storage for jobiko.org, or write to support@jobiko.org and we will help you.
In your browser. Most browsers let you view, block and delete cookies:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Site settings → View permissions and data stored across sites
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Apple Safari: Settings → Privacy
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions
Blocking the essential session cookie signs you out and prevents the Service from working. Clearing your storage also resets your saved language and theme.
7. Where your data is stored #
Information associated with your account is stored in Canada. Our service providers may process data in Canada, the United States and other countries where they operate, under contractual safeguards (see Section 8 of our Privacy Policy). 8. Changes to this policy #
We update this policy when the technologies we use change or when the law requires it. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the current version. For significant changes we will let you know in the Service or by email.
