Your posting for a Lead Pressure Welder at Northern Plains Process Equipment asks for someone who can hold a high X-ray pass rate while training newer welders. That has been my job for the past nine years at Prairie Steel Fabricators.

I lead a crew of six welders and fitters on process piping and structural steel for mining and agriculture. Since 2019 we have maintained a 98% first-time pass rate on radiographic testing across more than 2,000 pressure welds. When I took over the crew, most rework came from poor fit-up, so I introduced a fit-up checklist and pre-weld inspections. Rework hours dropped by around a quarter.

We also fabricated structural steel for three potash mine expansions, including 120 tonnes of platforms and conveyor supports, and my crew has had no lost-time injuries in nine years. I check every crew member's setup at the start of a shift, and I expect the same care from fitters as from welders.

Before that I spent six years at Northland Pressure Vessels building ASME Section VIII vessels and tanks, up to 40 a year, where I learned GTAW roots on carbon and stainless steel and trained five apprentices.
