Dear Mr. Beaulieu,
I saw that Boreal Freight Lines is hiring AZ drivers for its new cross-border lanes between Northern Ontario and Minnesota. I have driven those roads, in every season, for 16 years, and I would like to bring my safety record to your fleet.
At Nickel Belt Transport I run 180,000 to 200,000 km a year into Quebec and the US Midwest, hauling mining supplies, dry van and dangerous goods. My on-time delivery rate has been 98.6% over the last three years, across about 1,100 loads. I have also had more than 40 roadside inspections since 2018 with no out-of-service orders, because I take my pre-trip seriously.
I am careful with fuel as well. By shifting progressively and keeping idle time low, I average 34 L/100 km, about 8% better than our fleet. I also work as a road trainer and have trained six new drivers, all of whom finished their first year with the company.
Before Nickel Belt I spent eight years on regional flatbed and dry van routes for Laurentian Carriers, securing steel, lumber and machinery to National Safety Code Standard 10 with no load shifts or claims. I was named the company's safe driver of the year twice. Winter roads north of Sudbury taught me to plan for weather as carefully as for traffic.
I hold a Class AZ licence with Z endorsement, a FAST card and TDG certification, and I speak English and French. I would be glad to complete a road test at your convenience. I can start within two weeks.
